Dear Actionmarguerite Residents and Families,
We wanted to begin by sharing with you that important government announcements have been made since our last update that will be of benefit to the long-term care sector in Manitoba and more importantly to the people we support at Actionmarguerite.
The first is the news that a second booster of the COVID vaccine will be provided to residents of long-term care and congregate living settings in Manitoba as well as to Manitobans 70 years of age or older. Our care teams are diligently preparing the vaccine clinics and will be reaching out to obtain consent for residents who are due for their second booster in the coming weeks.
You may have also heard that the Government of Manitoba will be making an initial $15M investment to strengthen the long-term care sector. You can read about the announcement at the following link: Province of Manitoba | News Releases | Manitoba Government Invests Over $15 Million to Strengthen Long-Term Care System. As you can imagine, this represents important news for the long-term care sector.
